Welcome to The Anchorage
The sweeping view of The Anchorage called Commodore Jacob Jones home from his many voyages at sea where he earned reward from Congress for his heroics battling Barbary pirates and chasing down ships of His Royal Majesty’s service 200 years ago.
Originally built in 1710 by the Lusby family, the Commodore added extensively to The Anchorage in 1835 including the 2 1/2 story Georgian main house with paneled front door and fanlight, wide plank floors and elaborate wood moldings-all lovingly preserved. The 1710 portion of the Anchorage is presented in the classic Williamsburg style for guests to enjoy in our dining area, with the rest of the Anchorage paying homage to the Georgian period the good Commodore favored.

Maryland's Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers produce oysters that are plump, delicate and often characteristically briny. You'll taste a mild difference in flavor between oysters caught or farmed in different areas of the bay. That's just a great excuse to sample your way across the region, tasting and comparing.
